FEATURE FILM
A screenplay based on the novel by Slavic Rozhkov
Eighty years after the end of World War II, the great-grandson of a war veteran and his grandmother leave Rostov and begin a new life in Europe.
As air-raid sirens once again become part of everyday life in their hometown, three generations of one family confront a question:
What does it mean to remember a war if humanity still allows war to return?
THE PERSONAL STORY BEHIND THE PROJECT
I do not present myself as a professional writer or screenwriter.
First and foremost, I am an actor, and this project grew out of an actor's perspective — an interest in people, their behavior, memories, and inner lives.
The foundation of When the Sirens Wailed Again is my personal diary, which I had kept since childhood.
It contained my own experiences, family stories, conversations, our move to another country, fears, observations, and my attempts to understand what was happening around me.
Later, those diary entries gradually developed into a complete story — first as a literary work and then as a screenplay.
At different stages of the process, I used artificial intelligence tools as creative assistants: to structure the material, edit the text, explore different formulations, and adapt the story into literary and screenplay formats.
Some parts were written entirely by me. Other parts were created and developed with the assistance of AI.

But the story itself — its personal foundation, family memory, diary entries, and emotional core — is mine.
